Application Methods:

1. Surface Preparation:

Before applying Hero, it is critical to prepare the surface properly to ensure optimal bonding and durability:

• Cleanse: Start by stripping any old wax or sealant from the vehicle using Greenway’s Cleanse washing solution during the wash.
• Clay Bar: Use a clay bar treatment on all surfaces to remove embedded contaminants.
• Fresh: Spray all areas with Greenway’s Fresh paint preparation solution and wipe with a soft microfiber towel to ensure the surface is residue-free.
• Correction (if needed): If swirl marks, scratches, or imperfections are present, use Critical Correction and Critical Finish to perform a full paint correction before applying Hero.

2. Hand Application:

• Apply a liberal amount of Hero to a ceramic or foam applicator (avoid microfiber applicators, as they may remove the product during application).
• Create a picture frame by outlining a section of the vehicle, then fill in the middle using vertical and horizontal strokes. For larger vehicles, you can coat up to 50% of the surface area at one time due to Hero’s extended drying time.
• After approximately 20 minutes, Hero will develop a darker "skim coat" appearance, indicating it is ready for removal.
• Remove the coating with a soft microfiber towel. If removal becomes difficult, reapply a thin layer and wipe off after 5 minutes.

3. Machine Application:

• Use a random orbit/dual-action polisher set to a slow speed for machine application. Do not use rotary-style buffers or high-speed settings.
• Apply Hero generously to a finishing pad, then spread it evenly across the surface, using the same picture frame method.
• After the skim coat forms, remove the coating with a microfiber towel.

Durability:

• Hero is engineered to last up to 10 years on clear-coated and gel-coated surfaces, with varying durability on wheels, glass, and metals depending on maintenance and exposure conditions.
• On wheels and glass, Hero can last several months to years based on driving conditions and regular maintenance.

Maintenance:

• Hero requires no maintenance, but pollutants can build up on the surface over time. Use a clay bar and strip wash to remove any contaminants.
• If desired, you can enhance water repellency by applying Greenway’s Trench Coat as a topper, but this is not necessary to maintain Hero’s protection.

Surfaces to Avoid:

Do not apply Hero to unpainted plastic, vinyl, or polycarbonate surfaces such as headlights or taillights. For unpainted black plastics commonly found on base-model vehicles, use Greenway’s Ceramic Trim Coat instead for protection.
