Lightweight 1500 easily cuts through mild to moderate paint defects, removes swirls, scratches, oxidation and 1500 grit sanding marks. Lightweight 1500 is perfect for those vehicle surfaces that need to be brought "back to life". Some vehicles might require a little more than polishing to rejuvenate the painted surfaces. Lightweight 1500 is a great choice when conducting a one or two stage paint correction followed by a protection coat. Scratches can be caused by improper washing techniques, tunnel washes, poor drying habits, environmental factors and more. It is always easier to start with a mild paint correcting compound to save time during the final polishing stage. Lightweight 1500 is the perfect in-between product to fill the void if a heavy cut compound is not needed and a paint correcting polish is just not strong enough.
Unlike many light cut compounds, Lightweight 1500 contains synthetic micro-abrasives that help remove the surface defects without leaving behind the typical abrasive compounding surface defects. Lightweight 1500 leaves behind a scratch and swirl-free finish which allows you to speed through the polishing stage. Lightweight 1500 is silicone free and body shop safe. There will not be any issues with "fish-eyes" and other paint defects that can be created with products that contain silicone.
How to Use
The most important step of the detail process is to start with a clean surface. Preparation in regards to removing insect residue, tar, and paint contamination by using a clay process or fallout remover should be done prior to using this product.
Apply a small amount of product onto a foam buffing pad, and slowly work into painted surface with the machine off. This will help avoid any type of product sling. If you are an experienced detailer, slow acceleration of the machine can be started right away without any product sling.
Work the product until the product becomes nearly invisible. This is an area that is rushed by many auto detailers. If you do not work the product thoroughly, you will not allow the abrasives in the product to be diminished completely.
Wipe the area with a soft microfiber towel. Check your work and proceed to next panel If pad combination is working correctly with product. You can always switch the pad to a more aggressive foam pad if necessary. Always start with the least aggressive pad and work your way up the pad aggressiveness level. This is especially true for the enthusiast detailer who does not have the experience in order to choose the correct pad and product combination quickly.
