Greenway’s Cleanse shampoo solution is the ideal solution for preparing a vehicle for an exterior detail.  It is crucial to start with a clean wax, sealant, and polish-free surface to ensure your paint is ready for the next wax, sealant, polish or ceramic coating to be applied to ensure adherence.

If the vehicle surface is not free of any existing chemical, your new product of choice will not adhere to these new products and therefore not to the vehicle surface, or the application will not produce the desired results. This product can be used with the standard washing method and is safe to use in a foam cannon.

The high pH solution allows quick removal of bugs, road debris, dirt, polish, wax, sealant, and many other contaminants to give you a clean, product-free exterior surface.

After using Cleanse, you can rinse and proceed with a clay process if necessary to remove any left-over contamination. Do not use Cleanse with a clay bar as it will deteriorate the clay. Use our spray detailer or a neutral pH wash shampoo. Many detailers attempt to use a degreaser, APC (All-purpose cleaner), or dishwashing solution to prepare the vehicle surface. Doing this can etch vehicle glass, dry out exterior components, and leave a white film that can be a tedious task to remove. Cleanse is a safe, alternative combination of these items in a high foaming, alkaline car washing solution.

Cleanse is not a solution that you would use weekly. If you are using cleanse to replace any of our standard car wash solutions, you will strip off any exterior product of the painted surface with each use. Stripping off the painted surface would leave your vehicle with no external protection, which could lead to premature clearcoat failure.

How to Use:

Always start with a clean bucket that never had contact with the silicone. Silicone could have been present on a wheel and tire brush and then placed into that wash bucket. Even if you clean the bucket, silicone could still be present and entirely “flatten” the sudsing capabilities of any shampoo solution.

Cleanse can be diluted up to 256:1 and remain a very effective shampoo solution. Fill the desired wash bucket up with high-pressure water to the desired level after adding approximately one or two ounces of solution per one gallon of water.

After you apply and wash the entire surface area, rinse the surface area from top to bottom. Do not use any drying agent to the surface after rinsing. Using a drying agent will add a layer of unwanted product to your vehicle's surface.

Car Detailing Tech Tip:

  • If you complete the washing stage in the direct sun, you can always wash and prep each side covered by shade. Follow the above instructions, but start your prep work on the shady side first. Once your washing, clay treatment, tar removal, and other preparation are complete, turn the vehicle around and start the process again on the other side. Doing this will give you the extra time needed to proceed through all the appropriate steps while preventing the solutions from drying too quickly.
  • After the vehicle’s sides are complete, you can wash and prepare the car’s other flat and vertical surfaces. If you are using Greenway’s Bugs B Gone, break up the front end into sections to avoid drying the product on the vehicle surface. Remove bugs separately, and you should rinse the product entirely before washing or prepping any other vehicle’s surface.
  • Most detailers use too much wash solution. Professional, concentrated shampoos such as Cleanse does not require a large amount of solution to be effective.
