Greenway’s Cleanse shampoo solution is the ideal solution when it comes to preparing a vehicle for an exterior detail.  It is important to start with a clean wax, sealant and polish free surface in order to ensure your paint is prepared for the next wax, sealant, polish or ceramic coating to be applied to ensure adherence.

If the vehicle surface is not free of any existing chemical, your new product of choice will not adhere to the vehicle surface or application of these new products will not produce the desired results.  This product can be used with the standard washing method and is safe to use in a foam cannon.

The high pH solution allows quick removal of bugs, road debris, dirt, polish, wax, sealant and many other contaminates to give you a clean, product free exterior surface.

After using Cleanse, you can rinse and proceed with a clay process if necessary to remove any left-over contamination. Do not use Cleanse with a clay bar as it will deteriorate the clay. Use our spray detailer or a neutral pH wash shampoo.  Many detailers attempt to use a degreaser,  APC (All-purpose cleaner) or dish washing solution in order to prepare the vehicle surface.  This can etch vehicle glass, dry out exterior components and leave a white film that can be a tedious task to remove. Cleanse is a safe, alternative combination of these items in a high foaming, alkaline car washing solution.

Cleanse is not a solution that you would use on a weekly basis.  If Cleanse was used as a replacement for any of our standard car wash solutions, any exterior product would be stripped off the painted surface with each use.  This would leave your vehicle with no exterior protection which could lead to premature clearcoat failure.

How To Use

Always start with a clean bucket that never had contact with silicone.  Silicone could have been present on a wheel and tire brush and then placed into that wash bucket. Even if the bucket was cleaned, silicone could still be present and entirely “flatten” the sudsing capabilities of any shampoo solution.

Cleanse can be diluted up to 256:1 and still remain a very effective shampoo solution. After adding approximately one or two ounces of solution per one gallon of water, fill desired wash bucket up with high pressure water to desired level.

After you apply and wash the entire surface area, rinse surface area from top to bottom.  Do not apply any type of drying agents to the surface after rinsing. This will add a layer of unwanted product on your vehicle surface.

Tech Tip

If you are completing the washing stage in the direct sun, you can always wash and prep each side that is covered by some shade.  Simply follow the above instructions, but start your prep work on the shady side first. Once your washing, clay treatment, tar removal and other preparation is complete, turn the vehicle around and start the process again on the other side.  This will give you the extra time needed to proceed through all the appropriate steps while preventing any solutions from drying too quickly.

After the sides of the vehicle are complete, you can proceed to wash and prepare the other flat and vertical surfaces of the vehicle.  If you are using  Greenway’s Bugs B Gone,  break up the front end into sections to avoid having the product dry on the vehicle surface.  The bug removal stage should be done separately and the product should be completely rinsed before washing or prepping any other surface of the vehicle.

Most detailers simply use too much wash solution.  Professional, concentrated shampoos such as Cleanse, does not require a large amount of solution to be effective.
